Qualifications and Classifications for membership
ASEPO has four classes of members, each with its own yearly dues. The Board of Directors determines the qualifications for membership, considering such issues as licensing, permitting, and verifiable work experience.

Voting Members
Craftspersons and Pyrotechnic Operators
(1) Must have a pyrotechnic license, or federal explosives permit for items;(2)(a)-(d) below [employment]
AND,
(2) Have been professionally employed in performing special effects or mechanical effects for one of the following:
(a) Motion Picture Productions
(b) Television Productions
(c) Television Commercial Productions
(d) Theatrical Stage Productions

Non-Voting Members
Craftspersons and Pyrotechnic Operators
(1) Only has current pyrotechnic operator's license, or federal explosives permit but does not meet requirement for items (2)(a)-(d) above [employment]
OR
(2) Only performed special effects or mechanical effects but does not meet requirement for item (1) above. [no license or no permit]
Sponsors
Contributors: Labor Unions and Suppliers.
Benefactors: Production and Facility Studios, Production Services Organizations and Independent Producers.
